Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Quito is so uncomfortable in the rain and cold. It makes you wonder why not just pack up and go South? Ya know Yankees have been saying things like that for over 400 years.  It could have been longer, but there wasn’t a South; thus, no Yankees before that.  As I sit at the coffee shop in Quito, Salinas and a few dozen small to medium sized communities along the South American coast await my arrival.  Still, it is not the warm, wonderful Texas coast.  With the cold water of the Pacific, the temps along those beaches seldom exceed 90 degrees.  I can live with 80 degrees without freezing.  Oh, to be in 80 degree weather tonight!

Homework and research. That’s what I’m doing at the coffee shop. One is obligated to do those things before departure or pay with an immense rash of chill bumps.
